A WOMAN CAPTURED TRAILER - Sundance Documentary Competition 2018 from Éclipse Film on Vimeo.

Doc Lounge Aarhus presents A Woman Captured

Slavery still exists and it is right in the middle of Europe!

Incredibly story of Marish, who lived as a house-slave for 10 years in Hungary. Her encounter with the director Tuza-Ritter gives her hope and courage to make a change.

Doc Lounge Aarhus is teaming up with Amnesty International as we invite you to catch the screening of this observational documentary that has just had its Danish premiere at CPH:DOX.

Director Bernadett Tuza-Ritter meets Marish during one of her short film projects and as she notices the extent of her captivity, she decides to stay and document more of her life.

A WOMAN CAPTURED follows a few years of Marish’s life. This observational documentary was shot almost entirely inside the house where she was a captive.Getting access by paying the house owners, Tuza-Ritter is only allowed to record Marish and the other maids so we encounter slavery with their voice, their shadows and surroundings but not their faces.

Having its Danish premiere at CPH:DOX, you will get to watch A Woman Captured in Aarhus as Doc Lounge Aarhus teams up with Amnesty International and brings modern slavery in focus.
