It's a Girl

Sverigepremiär!

Doc Lounge Lund Presents the Swedish premiere of IT’S A GIRL as a pre-event for the MR dagarna (Swedish Forum for Human Rights). Together with a book launch of Petra Flaums new book ‘ANSVAR Gemensamt Ansvar – Sveriges Politik för Global Utveckling (PGU)’, and a fantastic line up of panel members ready for a great panel discussion, this event is not one you want to miss out on.

In India and China, where sons are valued and daughters are burdens, millions of babies are killed, abandoned, or [I LOVE MR]  selectively aborted, simply because they are girls.
The result of longstanding traditions and governmental policies, this devaluation of females has led to rampant violence against women and a growing female “gendercide”.

A powerful and thought-provoking documentary film, It’s a Girl reveals this issue of “gendercide” by exploring the stories of the victims, families, global experts and grassroots activists. Shot on location in India and China, It’s a Girl asks why this is happening and why so little is being done to save girls and women.
