The Work

Jairus J. McLeary, 79 min, USA, 2017

The Work (season premiere!)

Season premiere with focus on the fact that men need to talk more about feelings

We’re happy to present this seasons premiere film: THE WORK. It’s such an important film in todays political climate where men need to talk more and learn how to open up to each other.

Set inside a single room in Folsom Prison, "The Work" follows three men from the outside as they participate in a four-day group therapy retreat with level-four convicts. The film offers a powerful and rare look past the cinder block walls and comfort zones and reveals a movement of change and redemption that transcends what we think of as rehabilitation.

** World Premiere at SXSW 2017

** Doc Audience Award Winner Sheffield Doc Fest 2017

“Putting the viewer into a men’s circle like no other, The Work is a remarkable piece of reportage.”
