Concerning Violence!
Göran Hugo Olsson, 90 min, Sweden.Göran Hugo Olsson continues his digging in Swedish television archives. In "The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975" he depicted the black civil rights movement in the United States. Concerning Violence is a challenging and visually astounding story based on archival material from the moment in the struggle for liberation from colonial oppression in Africa and clips where Swedish missionaries and business leaders express themselves about their presence. These stunning images and scenes combined with text from Frantz Fanon's "wretched of the earth", spoken by the artist Lauryn Hill, depicts our history in a way that is both revealing, enlightening and infuriating.
