Anna-Karin Grönroos, 14 min, Finland.Thousands of young people. Everyone with a different story. Everyone with the same yearning.
Thousands of underage refugees have arrived to Finland without a parent or a guardian. What messages do they have to their families, to their mothers and fathers? What would they say, if they had the chance? It is a simple question, a simple theme, simple enough to bring the plight of the young refugees close to the viewers. The young dream of life, that wasn’t possible back in their homeland. They wish for peace, so that they can one day return.
The words we hear are heavy with gratefulness, understanding and yearning. Even when the future in Finland seems brighter than it was back in the homeland, it is a rough road without the love and support of one’s family.
