Man Ooman
Andreas Johnsen, Rasmus Poulsen, 57 min, Denmark.Jamaica has more churches, more murderers and more parties per capita than any other country on Earth. It's a party seven days a week on the island and the dances are often aggressive and extremely sensual. Dancehall is the dance of the poor working class and even if it often is about looking cool and sexy in front of the camera, the tension is bubbling beneath the surface - not least in the raw and ultra-sexual dance that often takes place up in trees or on top of light poles. The young dancers Fresh and Kamar guide the film makers through the notorious street parties, where the men fight for the women, who in turn fight to be chosen as the year's Dancehall Queen. "Ever fresh, ever clean!"
