These kids! Each day, Jackson, Zahira, Carlito and Samuel goes on a long and adventurous way to get to school. We follow them through the dangerous savannahs of Kenya, the winding trails in Morocco's Atlas Mountains, the sweltering heat of southern India and the vast and dizzying plateau in Patagonia. And soon realize that these children are driven by a hunger for education that we in the West take for granted and often fritter away far too lightly.
Pascal Plisson is really known for his nature films. But even in the most remote and challenging areas he encountered children who were on their way to their school. He began to follow the young students in various parts of the world and takes us on an epic journey that you'll never forget.
On the way to school won the award for best documentary at the French Cesar Awards in 2014 and participated in the Official Selection at the Locarno International Film Festival 2013.
