Doc Lounge <3 Way Out West!
We are very happy to annouce our new collaboration with Way Out West Festival! The acclaimed music festival started in 2007, every year bringing thousands and thousands of people for a three day music mayhem in Gothenburg, Sweden.
A few years back the festival also started to exiting film screenings to their programme, with a mix of music films, classics, local, fiction and docs.
In a shared love for strange, edible things, Doc Lounge and Nordisk Panorama Film Festival will be co-hosting an exclusive preview screening of the new danish documentary BUGS, during Way Out West on Saturday August 13. Directed by Andreas Johnsen, the film takes us on a culinary journey around the world, asking ”could eating insects save our earth?”
The film will also be presented as a part of the Doc Lounge official selection for Fall 2016 with its nordic premiere during a special Doc Lounge event at Nordisk Panorama in Malmö on September 19th, followed by several screenings in the Doc Lounge network.

Bugs is presented in collaboration with Moving Docs - a EDN initiative supported by Creative Europe, with the aim to create innovative outreach strategies and provide opportunities for urban and rural European audiences to enjoy regular screenings of documentary films through a wide variety of media and platforms.
