Doc Lounge Official Selection Spring 2016!
We are excited to announce Doc Lounge Official Selection for Spring 2016! This year women are dominating on screen, as well as off, and we are very happy to present this great selection of films with a majority of female directors and stories from all over the world. In IDFAs audience award winner Sonita a girl in Iran is dreaming of a life as a rapper; in the Sundance favourite The Wolfpack the Angulo brothers find their way from isolation to modern society, and in Tora Mkandwire Mårtens' energetic Martha & Niki we discovery the lives and friendship of two amazing dancers. Kim Longinotto returns with Dreamcatcher from the streets of Chicago and Amy Berg present a moving portrait of Janis Joplin in Janis: Little Girl Blue. We go behind-the-scenes of the prestigious magazine The New Yorker in Very Semi-Serious; experience how the Earth's governments would handle an alien encounter in Michael Madsens The Visit and discover how 9/11 could have been prevented in A Good American. In Spartacus and Cassandra we meet siblings making the hardest decision between a safe life and school or their parents. So join us - for this amazing season of films and events!
