Doc Lounge opening in Östersund tonight!

Up until now, Doc Lounge in Sweden hasn't been seen further to the north than Stockholm. But tonight, February 2nd, the day has finally come! Doc Lounge Östersund, under the direction of Anna Sivertsson, are opening their doors with the Cold War-themed The Man Who Saved the World at 7pm at Jazzköket. The film's director, Peter Anthony (DK), will be there for an open Q&A session after the screening.

"I discovered Doc Lounge when I lived in Malmö," says Anna. "For a long time I've wanted the people of Östersund to be able to take part of the concept. When I had the chance to open up the club here, with the help of Filmpool Jämtland, I jumped at the chance."

Doc Lounge Östersund is the first of several planned Doc Lounges in northern Sweden, a project made possible by support from the Swedish Post Code Lottery Culture Foundation. If you want to stay updated when new Lounges open up, follow us on Facebook or Twitter (or why not both?). If you're inspired to start your own, don't hesitate to get in touch!
