Film about freediving legend premieres at Doc Lounge tonight!
The new documentary about the freediving legend Jacques Mayol, who also was the inspiration for the cult film The Big Blue, is finally here and Doc Lounge are more than happy to present the Swedish premiere. The film Dolphin Man - The Life and Legacy of Jacques Mayol is directed by Lefteris Charitos and co-produced by Anemon Productions, Storyline Entertainment and Les Films du Balibari. Narrator of the film is Jean-Marc Barr, the actor who played Mayol in Le Grand Bleu (1988).
Dolphin Man will screen in 12 Doc Lounge venues during October and November, starting in Lund tonight. 5 screenings are part of the Doc Lounge Live concept, where cinemas, libararies and culture houses take part of Doc Lounge events through simultaneous screenings and live broadcasts from Doc Lounge in Malmö.
All the screenings are accompanied by special guests. The screening in Lund is accompanied by the under water band SUBMERGE and the organisation Aqualand, who will let the audience test their under water skills... The Malmös screening (which also will be broadcasted) is visited by no other then Swedens best female freediver Sofia Tapani.
Doc Lounge celebrates the premiere by inviting the audience to take part in a photo competition on social media. The winner of the competition wins a unique diving trip to Greece to dive with Athens Divers Club, an online course by world record-holding freediver Sara Campbell, Cressi diving equipment and Dolphin Man cinema tickets! Everybody is welcome to attend the competition via Facebook.
