Happy Holidays from Doc Lounge HQ
Oh jeez, how crazy is it that this year is coming to an end? And to think that Doc Lounge has been around for the whole DECADE? Time truly flies when you’re having fun! The Doc Lounge Head Office will leave for the Holidays with plenty of highlights and happy memories to look back at!
This year, 72 fantastic documentaries has been seen by you during 802 events and screenings, in 50 cities across the Nordic countries. We also continued our work with outreach and creating social change through innovative documentary distribution, in our project Doc Lounge Impact Hub. With Leslie Brinner we’ve been hosting lots of school screenings to educate teens (and their teachers) on masculinity norms. With PUSH we’ve made people, and even the Swedish Parliament, aware of the housing crisis and the effect it has on us all and our society. With EXIT we’ve had the pleasure to continue our collaboration with Fryshuset by hosting screenings with lectures about violent extremism.
Last but not least we continued our exchange and education project Doc Lounge Caucasus in collaboration with film festivals in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
We would like to heartfully thank all our partners, collaborators, financiers and staff. But mostly we would like to thank our audience! It’s crazy to think that you’re over 20,000 people who have been attending our screenings. ♥︎ We couldn't have done all of this without you. Now, the Doc Lounge Head Office will be closed for a couple of weeks. We look forward to new exciting work and events in 2020!
