Meet the Grown Ups at Doc Lounge!

Who has the right to be called normal? During March and April, Doc Lounge is putting on a tour of eleven screenings of the documentary Grown Ups by shooting star director Maite Albierte. The film portrays the daily lives of a group of people with Down Syndrome at their combined school and work place in Chile. It's heart warming and fun, while at the same time is raising important questions you cannot hide from.

“The Grown Ups is an impressively informative and utterly compassionate glimpse into the lives of Down syndrome adults”
- Alliance of Women Film Journalists

The Grown Ups is a part of the Doc Lounge Official Selection for Spring 2017 and will be shown at 5 Doc Lounges and an additional 6 places with the Doc Lounge Live concept. The event in Malmö on April 4th will invite famous Moomsteatern for a talk on diversity and everyone's right to work, freedom and love.

On the same night, the film is also shown with Doc Lounge Live at cinemas, libraries and culture houses, combined with a live broadcast of the event and talk from Doc Lounge Malmö. Via texts and social media the audience are invited to take part and ask questions to the guests.

The tour of The Grown Ups is held adjacent to World Down Syndrome Day, a day to create awareness of what it is like to be diagnosed with Downs Syndrome. At the screenings in Malmö and Lund, the audience is encouraged to wear two different socks to show support for the movement "Rock the Socks".
