Regional Doc Lounge Awards handed out during Pixel and Frame Film Festival!
Doc Lounge loves to award great films and film makers! Last week we picked and announced the winner of the Doc Lounge Award during the new, international film festival Sundsvall Film Fest. And this weekend more awards were handed out through collaborations with two regional film festivals – Pixel (Skåne) and Frame (Västra Götaland). The winners at Frame will get the opportunity to be screened at Doc Lounge Göteborg and the winner at Pixel will get the opportunity to be screened at Doc Lounge Malmö, Doc Lounge Lund and Doc Lounge Helsingborg in fall.
During Frame, a yearly short film festival in western Sweden, event producer Anni Karlsson from Doc Lounge Göteborg was handing out the award for best film in the ”middle- and heavy weight class" (film makers between years 16-19 and 20-26). The proud winner is ”Igår var jag i framtiden” by Malin Ekström och Paulina Witte.
The jury’s motivation (in Swedish):
"Genom väl valda situationer och ett betraktande förhållningssätt där åskådaren själv får arbeta med bildernas betydelse, byggs ett starkt och hoppfullt porträtt av en människas förmåga att återuppfinna sin egen identitet, och skapa nya världar när samtiden skaver."
The jury for the Doc Lounge Award at Frame Film Festival consisted of:
Erik Lundin (director and film commissioner KulturUngdom)
Cecilia Björk (documentary film maker)
Erika Gonzales (editor).
The same weekend, the short film festival Pixel was taking place in the southern sweden region. Project managers from Doc Lounge Malmö, Erika Hallgren and Teres Arvidsson, was taking part to hand out the Doc Lounge and Film i Skåne Award for best documentary. We are very proud to announce the film Swedish Dream, by Johannes Rydinger & Sadik Salem as the winner!
The jury’s motivation (in Swedish):
"En visuellt vacker skildring av staden som både bokstavligen och symboliskt utgör porten till Sverige och ett nytt liv. Med fint flow genom karaktärernas berättelser och drömmar gestaltar den samtiden och ett brännande aktuellt ämne på ett ärligt sätt som inte lämnar någon oberörd.”
The jury for the Doc Lounge and Film i Skåne Award for Best Documentary at Pixel consisted of:
Elin Hörberg (Doc Lounge Lund)
Anna Bynkenheim (Doc Lounge Helsingborg)
Teres Arvidsson (Doc Lounge Malmö)
Erika Hallgren (Doc Lounge Malmö)
Anna Andersson Björk (Doc Lounge Malmö)
We congratulate the winners and are very much looking forward to screening the winning short films from Sundsvall Film Fest, Pixel and Frame this fall!
