Yoga, raw food and Sugar Blues at Doc Lounge

How about some yoga with your documentaries? That's exactly what will happen at Doc Lounge this November, when Sugar Blues comes to Doc Lounge Varberg. Time to get healthy (and see great films at the same time)!

Can sugar kill? According to Sugar Blues director Andrea Culková it can. After being diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and is given strict orders to avoid sugar, she delves into the world of the sugar industry. With the obsession of a detective, she identifies the ties between multinational corporations, politicians and health care.

Doc Lounge will also be screening Sugar Blues on the upcoming dates and times:

  • Doc Lounge Varberg (5/11). The evening begins at 6pm with yoga instructor Maria Tegelberg, who will also discuss raw food after the film. The yoga session is free, so don't miss out! There will also be live music from Josephine & the River Boys.
  • Doc Lounge Turku (12/11). Turku will be visited by mindfulness instructor Satu Postin who will do a lecture on how to eat concsiouly, to be aware of the feelings when you eat to and eat with all your senses. Bound to be fascinating!
  • Doc Lounge Joenssu

Sugar Blues has already been screened at Doc Lounge in Helsinki, Finland, and in Växjö, Sweden, with expert debates and practical demonstrations of just how much sugar is in the food we eat.

Keep an eye on our calendar for the Joenssu date and watch the trailer below! You can also read more about Sugar Blues in our film archive.

Sugar Blues is screened at Doc Lounge as a part of the pan-European project Moving Docs. Moving Docs is supported by Region Skåne.
